LINCOLN – Rhonda Revelle figured this was only a matter of time. For three straight years since 2002, when the Nebraska softball team last played in an NCAA regional at Iowa City, the Huskers have welcomed Iowa to their postseason party in Lincoln. But this season, it’s the Hawkeyes’ turn to host the Huskers.
Nebraska (42-10) and Iowa (39-20) will open the NCAA tournament facing off at 4:30 p.m. Friday at Pearl Field. Tenth-seeded California (44-12) and Missouri Valley Conference regular-season champion Illinois State (37-14) were the other two teams sent to the Iowa City regional.
