On Sunday, the Nebraska Basketball team got a full dose of playing without center Aleks Maric. In the morning shootaround, Maric’s balky left hip flared up again, leaving him limping noticeably.
With the 6-foot-11 junior and his 19.4 points and 7.4 rebounds on the bench, the Huskers went on to thump Alabama A&M 82-55 before 6,026 fans at the Devaney Center.
But Maric’s status for this week’s three-game Rainbow Classic in Honolulu remains unknown.
Nebraska coach Doc Sadler, before a question could be finished about how often he holds his breath on Maric’s health, blurted out, “Every day.”
