Well Well Well what is everyong going to be talking about this week? A HUSKER WIN! The Nebraska Cornhuskers came out to play on Senior Day against the Kansas State Wildcats and they dominated them. The final score was 72-31.
Junior Quarterback Joe Ganz led the Huskers by throwing seven touchdowns and throwing for 510 yards. Yes, you read that right! Seven touchdowns and 510 yards! That is a great performance by the Husker offense today. All the way from the quarterback to the linemen, and onto the running backs and receivers. Everyone did a great job!
Maurice Purify led the Husker receivers with six catches for 108 yards. Todd Peterson grabbed four balls and two touchdowns while Frantz Hardy caught three balls for 83 yards and three touchdowns. Marlon Lucky and Terrance Nunn both caught a touchdown pass from Ganz as well.
Lucky led the Husker rushing attack with 103 yards and freshman Quentin Castille finished with 50 yards on 11 carries. Not as many rushing yards as I thought they would get but that is what happens when Ganz passes for over 500 yards.
Onto the defensive side of the ball. Sure K-state scored 31 points, but in a closer game, I don’t think that would have happened. Steve Octavien playing in his last game at Memorial Stadium led the team with nine tackles and one sack. Armando Murillo finished with six tackles and one sack. Larry Asante also had six tackles, while Corey McKeon had five tackles.
I think Courtney Grixby’s kickoff return in the first quarter ignited the Huskers. It gave them the spark to go out there and whoop some butt. After that play, it was all downhill for the Wildcats.
Now we move onto Colorado after a bye week. The Colorado game is always a big one for the players and fans. Lets get another win in Boulder!
Oh yeah, lets see if those K-State fans come back and leave some comments now after they all the doggin they have been doing on the Huskers. Maybe you guys need to ask yourself if Prince should really be your coach!
GO BIG RED!

It was a great game. Now does this mean that Billy Cos gets a another year
or are they gone. My hope is that they still are fired. the young men played a excellant game finally. I belive in Joe Ganz he is a moble quarter back. Maybe Billy out smarted himself when he didn’t choose Joe at the start of the season.
Excellant Game Huskers.

Yeah I am a Cat Fan. Today was a total embarrassment, but hey no excuses. A world class butt whuppin. Kudos to the Husker players. You got it done.
Watching the game at the local watering hole I observed what really ticks people off about the Husker Nation. Last week during the KU debacle, there was a little cheering during the early going, then whining about KU pouring it on, and finally silence as they left mid third quarter.
Today, nothin but trash talk about the “great Huskers” like they were 10-0 or something. No comments when NU throws the deep ball repeatedly while up 40 points, and continually obnoxiousness up to the game’s end. At least the KSU faithful stayed and watched the end, disappointed or not. When NU wins, you get to hear how great they are, when they lose it is always the same…..crappy coaching, refs screw em, other team cheats, someone is running it up on them, etc etc. Get real. We all are in the same boat. One week you give up 76, then next you score 73. Give the OTHER team credit when you lose, no whinin and running them down.
Again congrats to the NU players. NU Fans…same old whiners as always. No responsibility. Just excuses.Look at the post before this and the article before this. Slammin KSU fans and your own coaches. Oh yeah, NU fans are “classy” (sarcasm intended)

Jim: If anything, today’s play absolutely confirms why Callahan and Cosegrove must go. Everyone walking around wondering…”where did this team come from?” Sad, sad commentary on management.
Cat fan….most of the Husker fans I know were too much in shock to do any whinning, (:

I still say the players won this game and it shows that we don’t need these coaches play and win or lose the game. So get rid of Call, and Consgro. T.O., and tell everyone who the new coaches are so we might save some of the 2008 class.

Wow to the cat fan. I was at the game bud and I believe that 80 percent of your “loyal fans” were streaming out of the stadium at half time and i just laughed to myself, what kind of fans are they? Did you notice we probably have the most class in the nation, you didnt hear any warm up the bus chants nothing negative, KU game was completely different. Their fans….NO CLASS enough said. KSU you can’t beat us when we are at our worst let alone when we dominate. That puts the series at 75-15 Nebraska leading, goodluck catching up, it could take a few centuries.

Must be tough to keep up the pristine image of perfection and class. “Class”? Oh yeah, Johnny Rodgers, Lawrence Phillips, Christian Peter, the Roid Boys of the 70’s and 80’s. Class acts all! Dont talk about your class. You are just like anyone else. All schools have their black marks. Nebraska’s “classy” fans tolerate them as long as they can play. Don’t give me the BS about giving kids a second chance. Ordinary students dont get those chances unless the run 4.4 or bench 450 and are All Big 12. Your smell is just as bad as anyone else. You just think you are better people. THAT is why people dislike NU so much.

Here, as in many places, there’s a lot of talk about the “best fans” or the “classiest fans”… usually followed by back-biting along divisions of team loyalty. Naturally, every team has good, classy fans; and every team has fans that, regularly or occasionally, behave in a way that’s more of an embarrasment to their school/team/state than a credit. Ultimately, blogging sites aside, history speaks for itself. Nebraska and Kansas State are both programs known for their respectful, classy, football-knowledgeable fans. This is less a representation of something the school does, than a reflection of who we are in this part of the nation. (Traditionally this has also shown on the team, in the quality of people the schools chose to recruit - but we’ve seen some real bad apples over the years, too, i.e. Lawrence Phillips). At home and away games between KS and NU, fans have always been respectful and polite of the friendly rivalry. I wish the same could be said for the fans of some of NU’s other conference rivals. NU fans’ resolve has been tested this year, without a doubt, but despite some disappointing losses and early fan exits, the fan base has largely still stood by our team. Hey, show me someone else who can continue to draw 84,000 fans to a game that could have been a 6th straight loss.
Catfan - sorry if you’ve experienced bad behavior by some NU fans. I hope you recognize it’s the exception and not the rule. I certainly appreciate the way I’ve been treated as an NU fan when I’ve gone to Manhattan.

Great idea think it could save us money with the Bill story. 1st we keep him as head coach (Head coach of the speical teams or something that would demote him but yet keep in line with his contract. Head Coach could be head coach of anything equipment and etc. Then maybe he would be so put out that he would quit. voiding his contract.

Does anyone know anything about Brian Kelly from Cincinnati? Why is his name bing tossed around so much as a candidate for HC?
November 15th, 2007 at 5:14 pm
drbordo, the reason you keep hearing talk about Brian Kelly is because he is a proven winner so far. He has won at Grand Valley St (D2), Central Michigan, and now at Cincinnati.
Looks to be a good coach so far. A lot of people think of him as being the *next* Urban Meyer.

Cliff: #10. Thanks. We will need another Urban. Check it out.
Big 12 will push its way into BCS title game…..

Thanks Huskers…..All you did was piss the Cats off and they’ll probably take it out on us!!
Thanks also for screwing up so bad that Gabbert Decommitted to Huskers and now we have him. You’ll see him in 09 after McDanials leaves….Are you aware that Mizzou has beaten the Huskers 3 out of last 4 years….So long to your dynasty…you live in the past if you think it’s still coming back….
Hope you have to keep Billy and Company. $3.1 million buyout is just what you deserve after a $2M for you X Athletic Director….and you guys think that “N” on you helmet stands for knowledge??? I’m loving your debacle all the way to the Bank!!!
November 16th, 2007 at 8:14 pm
Wahoo, another Missou fan! Just remember, atleast we can think on the past how many years we kicked your ass? Good for you that you have won three out of four.
The time will come again, when you are winning only 3-4 games a year. Lets see if you are still around then.

Osborne weighs ‘input’ before making a decision.
Okay…what everyone needs to realilze is that Dr. Tom is Chairman of the Board and cannot decide alone who will be annoited HC. He will probably bring a recommendation to the ‘Board’ and together a decision will be made. It is not fair for one individual to carry this burden. The selection needs to be shared. So…the good Dr.Tom is vague in response to who and with good reason. Others will be involved in the selection process which is the way is should be. It would be a horrendous burden for just one man to shoulder. This is my position, what is yours?
