The Nebraska Cornhuskers have received another verbal commitment from a player in the state of Texas. Lester Ward says he will be a Husker once he signs his letter of intent on Wednesday.
Ward is a 6′3 220 lb running back that missed the first six games of his senior season with a hamstring injury. He still rushed for over 100 yards in the final four games of his highschool career however. Ward was once a Baylor commit, and had scholarship offers from schools like UCLA, Vanderbilt, TCU, and Tulane.

This kid has character. That might take him farther than his physical tools but they are very good as well. He a standout athlete and, as always, once he get in the training program at our TOP-NOTCH FACILITIES I’m sure he will develop into a high-caliber player. I wish him the best and I hope the coaching staff starts growing it’s own talent, the proverbial seeds are definately there. And remember you can’t measure the size of a man heart. Go Bo!!! GO BIG RED!!!(If you gave Callaspam a chance you better give Bo his as well, at least he actually deserves it, BTW Spammy had his offensive coordinator on the field when he went to the Super Bowl, his name… is Rich Gannon. Maybe he can be sued for head coaching fraud. I thought he’d be a great head coach in the arena league or as a head coach for the pop warner two-hand touch league. I guess it’s the Jets turn to get screwed into oblivion.)Have a nice day.

I watched Lester play at our high school for the past 4 years. He’s a big, lanky kid with some speed. What he has mostly is character, heart and dedication. He’s an above average recruit (was hurt in recruiting by senior year injury) but a BIG time leader. He probably won’t be an immediate impact player. You may not appreciate Lester that much right now but I guarantee you in 3 years you will be hearing his name called. This is a solid recruit for the future. We could use about a half dozen Lester Wards…

I couldn’t agree more. It will be so refreshing to have these type personalities on the field. That’s what college football is about. Character. And a very good athlete. He’ll definately develop. I absolutely do appreciate him. It’s also good to hear from someone who actually knows what they’re talking about.
