Nebraska Football head coach Bo Pelini is really stressing how important classroom attendance will be for his players and really wants to get it through their heads how important their grades are. Pelini will be very serious about this, so hopefully the players attend their classes and get the grades that they need to get so they can get out on the football field.
Here was an exact quote from Coach Pelini:
“Everything counts in this program. From the time you wake up in the morning until the time you go to bed. We hold you accountable in every aspect that you do. When we ask you to go to class, it’s not your decision, it’s mandatory. Everything is. That’s part of who they are. If we can’t count on them to do the things off the field, we can’t count on them on the field. That’s the way it is and that’s the way it was when I left LSU. It’s not up for debate. If you don’t want to go to class, turn pro.”
Sounds good to me. There will probably be a few cases where a couple players run into trouble with the rules, but I think they will quickly learn from their mistakes and make them a better student athlete.

I think if the players are smarter off the field they will play smart on the field.
