Running back Collins Okafor from Omaha has decided to leave the Nebraska Football team I have learned. I can only assume that Okafor seen how low he was on the depth chart and wanted a better chance at seeing the playing field.
Okafor is a big time eduction guy and almost went to Stanford out of highschool. I have to wonder if he will go back and talk with the Stanford coaches or possible check out schools like Northwestern or some of the private schools possibly.
I don’t see this really hurting the team too much as he was fifth or sixth on the depth chart and probably wasn’t going to see the field this year anyways. I do wish Collin the best in whatever decision he makes for his future.
***Update***
I’ve been told that Okafor is now back with the team and took part in practice on Thursday. Collins must have changed his mind or could we possibly see him working at a new position?
