Nebraska defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh will be in New York City this weekend when the Heisman Trophy is awarded to the top college player. The other Heisman finalists are running backs Toby Gerhart of Stanford and Mark Ingram of Alabama, and quarterbacks Colt McCoy of Texas of Tim Tebow of Florida.
No defensive player has earned an invitation to New York since Charles Woodson won the Heisman in 1997.
Suh will be adding a ton of hardware in the coming weeks as he is up for nearly every player of the year award. He may not win the heisman but Suh sure is putting Nebraska Football back out there on the map and that can only help with recruiting. Any defensive line player should want to play for Coach Pelini! Just ask Glenn Dorsey and Suh.

It’s about time the invite came his way. They say a defensive player can’t change a game, well he proved that wrong all season long and sealed it on Saturday night. I hope he wins it because if he played against all of the other heisman hopefuls their numbers wouldn’t have looked so good. Just ask Colt McCoy.
