The Nebraska basketball team picked up a much needed win in the Big 12 conference on Saturday evening. The Huskers traveled down to Lubbok, Texas to and battled with the Texas Tech Red Raiders. Nebraska led throughout the game and help on for a 82-69 victory. Great win for the Huskers especially on the road.
The victory improved the Huskers to 13-7 on the year and into a tie for fifth place in the league standings with a 3-4 record in Big 12 play. Ade Dugunduro and Cookie Miller led the way for the Huskers as Dugunduro scored 20 points and Miller chipped in with 19 points of his own. The two players also combined for eight assists and eight steals in the game.
The highlight of the night for the Red Raiders was when their coack Pat Knight rushed out on to the court and was ejected for arguing a call. As he was heading back to the locker room, he rushed back out on to the court and let the refs have it a little more. That was pretty much the excitement in the game for the Red Raiders.
The Husker’s next game will be on Wednesday when they travel to Boulder, Colorado to take on the Buffaloes. This is another big road game for the Huskers and if they can shoot the ball well while playing lock down defense they just might have a shot to grab another win in Big 12 play!
