Omaha – The defending national champion and top-ranked Nebraska volleyball team opened defense of its title in grand fashion, rolling to a 30-15, 30-19, 30-18 sweep of Tennessee in front of 10,158 fans at the AVCA Showcase Friday night at the Qwest Center.
The win was Nebraska’s 1,000th all-time victory, as the Huskers joined Saturday’s opponent UCLA and Missouri State as the only members of the 1,000-win club. The victory also improved Nebraska’s Qwest Center record to a perfect 8-0 as NU has dropped only three games in eight matches in the building.

Nebraska offensive linemen recruit Trevor Robinson from Elkhorn has informed the Nebraska coaching staff that he is going to be taking a look at Michigan and Notre Dame once again. There were rumors going around on a few message board a few days ago talking about this but most Husker fans thought they were just rumors that Notre Dame fans were starting up.
Lets hope that Trevor sticks to his pledge with the Huskers and that Dan Hoch, Bryce Givins, and Blaine Gabbert talk to him and see what he is thinking. Gabbert has been a bigtime help in recruiting other prospects to Nebraska so hopefully he can help keep Trevor with the Big Red.
