The University of Nebraska announced on Thursday that they would be raising the football tickets by $2. The new printed face on the tickets will be $54 rather then $52. Not much of an increase so I’m not upset with it one bit. Sure we pay high donations for our season tickets but that is the case with most programs around the country.
One reason for the increase in ticket price is to pay for a $3 million upgrade that the university is doing inside the stadium. Improvements include two replay boards that will be added in the northwest and northeast towers. The screens are the same size as those on the south towers, measuring 21’ high and 24’ wide. The addition will give Memorial Stadium five replay boards and allow nearly every fan a clear view of a HuskerVision screen. All of the replay boards will also be upgraded to high defintion.
So everyone get ready to open up their checkbooks or grab their credit cards because starting Feb 23rd, we can renew our season tickets and also send in our donations if we have not yet.
Tickets to the 2009 Nebraska Football Spring Game will go on sale Feb 4th beginning at 8 a.m. CST the University announced on Monday. There are some changes to the event this year as almost the entire stadium will be reserved seating and tickets will cost $10.
Nebraska will once again conduct the Drug Free Pledge at halftime of this year’s game. Youth (eighth grade or younger) who take part in the Drug Free Pledge will be admitted for free to the game, but need to secure a ticket in advance of the contest. Parents or sponsors of the youth taking part in the Drug Free Pledge will need to buy a reserved ticket, but will be seated with the youth in a designated section.
NU faculty will be able to buy tickets for $5 each but they will have to show their university id at the gate when they are entering. Students can get into the game for free and will be seated in section 11, however they will still need to have a ticket in hand for admittance. The Athletic Ticket Office will e-mail students with more details on obtaining spring game tickets.
Kickoff will be at 1 p.m on April 18th
