Former Nebraska Cornhusker offensive linemen Chris Patrick has been signed by the New York Giants and awarded a two year contract sources out of New York are saying. Patrick was passed on during last week’s supplemental draft, but an impressive workout was good enough to earn him a roster spot in New York.
Patrick decided to leave the Husker football team after finding out he would be kicked off or he could leave and enter the supplemental draft. He decided to keep things quite and just go ahead and enter the draft instead of causing a big problem. We aren’t sure what the exact causes were for it all happening so we will leave that at that.
Good luck to Mr. Patrick as he begins his professional football career with the New York Giants.
Keelan Johnson from Mesa, Arizona turned down the Arizona Wildcats for the Nebraska Cornhuskers today. While Arizona was recruiting Johnson to play running back, the Huskers offered him as a safety prospect and he choose the defensive side of the ball.
The 6-foot, 195-pounder secured his scholarship offer last month after camping at the Big Red Football School working all three days on defense and really impressing the coaching staff.
Welcome to the Big Red Mr. Johnson!
A former Nebraska offensive linemen that last played in 2005 for the Huskers has signed a contract with the Minnesota Vikings practice squad. Seppo Evwaraye finished his college career in the 2005 Alamo Bowl, in which Nebraska defeated Michigan, 17-3. The native of Finland was an A-P honorable-Mention All-Big 12, second-team Academic All-Big 12 and the Nebraska Lifter of the Year in 2005.
Nebraska offensive linemen recruit Trevor Robinson from Elkhorn has informed the Nebraska coaching staff that he is going to be taking a look at Michigan and Notre Dame once again. There were rumors going around on a few message board a few days ago talking about this but most Husker fans thought they were just rumors that Notre Dame fans were starting up.
Lets hope that Trevor sticks to his pledge with the Huskers and that Dan Hoch, Bryce Givins, and Blaine Gabbert talk to him and see what he is thinking. Gabbert has been a bigtime help in recruiting other prospects to Nebraska so hopefully he can help keep Trevor with the Big Red.
The Nebraska Baseball team has named it’s new pitching coach today. Eric Newman will be coming to Lincoln from Dallas Baptist University where he has been the head coach for the past three seasons. Before that he was their pitching coach for three years.
One reason he was hired because he has send players to the Major Leagues on a constant basis, and he can really recruit in the Big 12 states. Over the last three seasons, the Patriots were 95-72, including 52-11 at home record, while completing the transition to full Division I status in 2005.
